Alex and Melissa had tickets to leave today, and we leave tomorrow. We hung out in the Airbnb for the morning, packing and catching up on computer work and enjoying Phil's haul of pastries from a nearby bakery: bougatsa, pain au chocolat, and a honey/cherry pastry.

We left the house with their bags mid-day and took the train up to Agia Paraskevi for a last walk down memory lane.
A lot of our old haunts are still there: the grocery store is a Bazar, but still there, the Round Bakery is still there, but more of a coffee shop. The butcher is more upscale, but the place looks the same.

We took Alex and Melissa to Nomismatokopeio where they caught the airport train, and said goodbye. On our way back home, we stopped by Psirri for a few gifts and tried to buy Phil a new mobile phone in Syntagma since his just inexplicably died. No luck...phones are as expensive here as home. We stopped in Monastiraki train station and admired the excavations on our way.

We went back via Syntagma so we could check out the Public store to see if they had phones...the cheapest was $115 euros, which is NOT a burner phone. In the station, we saw this wonderful free book swap: take some and leave some. Not sure why it needed a guard.

We returned home and tried to finish off all the food we had accumulated in our fridge...oops....
