The past is for sale

Really, that could be the name of the whole blog, I think.  The tourist shops in Plaka sell the ancient past or the Byzantine past through the pots and small marble figurines and the evil eyes and the icons.  But this is about the Monastiraki Sunday Flea Market.  It has been a long time since I was at a US flea market, and then only up north, so I am not sure I've got a good memory to compare what one finds in the flea markets of the different countries.  But very little of this would be in the US, I think.
Lots of glassware and china

The store for measuring and documenting

Icons
A pirate's treasure:  weaponry and jewelry

Shoes with pom-poms and an ear trumpet

Bouzoukia?

Reproduction or historical artifact?  I'm not sure which is worse.
